Dolores Miron, began painting over 65 years ago. "As a child growing up in Northern Ontario, (South Porcupine, Timmins, Sudbury), you didn't have to go very far to find a beautiful scene to paint", says Dolores. "My Mother as well loved to paint and I have a lot of fond memories of Mom and I trying to paint and capture the beauty that was all around us". Dolores moved to Toronto in her early twenties, got married and raised a family of four. Throughout this time she maintained her love of Art, enrolled in countless Art courses, belonged to a number of Art organizations/memberships and won several awards in Art contests, Galeries and Exhibits. During the past 18 years she moved back to the North Country, Elliot Lake, where she retired with her husband. Dolores of course joined the local art group and continued her passion of painting the gorgeous landscapes. She loved the Northern Exhibits and on a number of occasions set up her own Exhibits. Dolores's renderings were well known and a number of her renderings were on display in the prestigious Northern Ontario Art Show tours. On the passing of her husband, Dolores decided to move back south, to the city of Mississauga,"where I can be closer to my kids, enjoy a little warmer weather and also the conveniences of the big city" Dolores says. "I will miss the North, but through my work, it's only a brush stroke away".
